Practical Advice for the Teaching of Psychology compiles all of the "Teaching tips" columns that have appeared in the APS Observer since the feature began in 1995 in addition to those that will be printed through to November 1999.

Topics covered include: finding the right textbook; tips for teaching introductory psychology; creating good exams; computerising your course; developing effective lectures; classroom demonstrations; academic advising; literature searches; dealing with academic dishonesty; and ethically risky situations.

The practical nature of the "Teaching tips" columns will appeal to psychology teachers at every level of instruction and some will be of wider relevance, e.g. computerising your course, dealing with academic dishonesty. A most welcome resource which will promote continuous improvement in teaching psychology.

Available from APS for $20 for APS members (the non-member price is $30) plus shipping.
