Editorial

This is the first issue done as a partnership of three co-editors scattered across the globe. We plan to continue what has proven to be a successful program of offering timely content on relevant conference reports, new products and services, an update on critical issues facing librarians and the trends in our profession. Now in its 18th volume year, LHTN has a loyal readership and we feel very fortunate to continue the excellent work of earlier editors. A snapshot of that current demography indicates the majority is in North America and affiliated with academic libraries. However, there is a significant population of readers scattered around the globe and we hope to expand coverage and input from all regions, and increase how we address issues of interest to librarians working in public libraries and special libraries. Our goals are to continue what has been successful and invite more participation from our readers to contribute to this newsletter. We are very happy that we have such talented contributing editors authoring columns on e-books, new products, copyright and legal issues, ongoing research and special interests. We hope to promote new areas of library systems and technology by providing innovative columns that introduce new methodology, communications systems, products, technologies and customer support for library services. We hope that you will offer us your feedback and remember to read Library Hi-Tech, our companion peer-reviewed journal that will continue to offer articles on many issues that are covered in LHTN. Expect to see a combination of news, features, interviews, programs, conference reports, individual and institutional research in progress, of interest to the broad library hi-tech community.
