This guide, written by a consultancy, aims to provide a learning system that is suitable for both organisations and individuals. Developing Your Career is based around a practical, interactive approach and contains a total of 16 activities across five sections. The five sections are:

  1. 1.

    1 “How satisfied am I with my life and career?”;

  2. 2.

    2 “Who am I?”;

  3. 3.

    3 “Planning for the future”;

  4. 4.

    4 “How to write a CV”; and

  5. 5.

    5 “Being interviewed”.

The 16 activities, which are thought‐provoking and require a time and effort investment, range from classic tasks (e.g. creating a lifeline) to new and innovative ones; all can be completed using the spaces provided in the pack. Indeed, this is my only real problem with the pack (that and the very small size of it meaning that only people with tiny handwriting – and good eyesight – can benefit) – the fact that if used as directed, it can only be used once and by one person. For £80 I would have preferred a photocopiable format. However, it is still cheaper than several sessions of career counselling and covers much of what would happen in such sessions anyway.
