Report on environmental regulation and competitiveness
A report commissioned by the UK's Department for Environment (Defra) as part of its sustainable consumption and production (SCP) research programme was recently published and is available online.
The report encompasses a literature review exploring the relationship between environmental regulation and competitiveness. It can be downloaded from: www.defra.gov.uk/environment/business/scp/sustain-business.htm
Defra has also published five further reports (NR0101-NR0105), which together form the first phase of an evidence base for its Natural Environment Policy Programme. The titles of the reports are:
(1) An inventory and assessment of natural resources (NR0101).
(2) Defining and identifying environmental limits for sustainable development (NR0102).
(3) Valuing our natural environment (NR0103).
(4) Pressures on natural resources (NR0104).
(5) Natural resource policy framework analysis (NR0105).
