The World Resources Institute is dedicating its next WRR to the topic “Sustainable food futures” to help answer the question: how can the world adequately feed more than nine billion people by 2050 in a manner that advances economic development while reducing pressure on climate, ecosystems and freshwater? Unlike previous editions of the WRR, the next edition will consist of a series of strategic, solution-focused installments released on a rolling basis. The first installment will pose the overarching challenge and frame the structure for the rest of the series. Each subsequent installment will delve into a separate piece of the food puzzle and provide recommendations on how the planet can shift towards a sustainable food system that sufficiently feeds all people.
