Northumbria Lite Workshop: Measuring Impact and Outcomes - 22 August IFLA Conference, Glasgow

Following four successful conferences on Performance Measurement in Libraries and Information Services, the School of Information Studies at University of Northumbria at Newcastle is pleased to announce that they are sponsoring the day together with the IFLA Statistics Section. The session will also be supported by the Section of Library Theory and Research.

Former conferences have focussed on input and output measures and quality measures for services. This day will be used to cover the important issue of the outcomes of library services, the impact of library use on research, education, and general knowledge.

The programme briefly, will be as follows:

Session 1 – Roswitha Poll – background and introduction.Session 2 – Plenary session: generic outcomes, papers selected from the call for papers.Session 3 – Seminars: generic outcomes, papers selected from the call for papers.LunchSession 4 – Plenary session: sector specific outcomes, papers selected from the call for papers.Session 5 – Seminars: sector specific outcomes: academic; public; special.Session 6 – Wanda Dole: plenary and feedback – the way forward.
