Millennium Inorganic Chemicals launches global business improvement project
At its sixth annual European trade press briefing Millennium Inorganic Chemicals announced the approval of a global Business Improvement Project (BIP) which will be supported by SAP software. The project, which involves the creation of an international BIP implementation team, has an approved budget of US$38 million.
"This project is critical to the future growth and development of our company", said Robert E. Lee, president and chief executive officer of Millennium Inorganic Chemicals. "lt will make us more effective, make our business and operating activities more efficient and economical and help us become a fully-integrated global company. Our customers will also benefit from improvements in service that this project will enable us to identify and implement."
Roy Pike, vice-president information technology and chief information officer of Millennium Inorganic Chemicals stated, "I am excited to be leading our implementation team. We will be re-engineering every process of our company from material maintenance to financial controls. All processes will be redone, implementing best practices, for a global company with global customers. We have a lot of hard work ahead of us, but I am confident that we can meet our deadline of January 1999."
