Chemicals, formulated products and their company sources

The Royal Society of Chemistry has launched a new electronic directory, "Chemicals, formulated products and their company sources". This new directory, available as a CD-ROM, is designed to provide the complete solution for those needing to buy chemicals and formulated products. "Chemicals, formulated products and their company sources" provides full contact details for both chemical manufacturing companies and agency or distributor companies around the world. The product listing for each company includes formulated products, trade names and discrete chemicals, and also custom chemicals and contract services, where applicable.

"Chemicals, formulated products and their company sources" will provide details of more than 22,000 companies, 16,000 chemicals and 45,000 trade name products at launch. Continuous expansion is planned. By 1999 records will number at least 40,000 companies, 30,000 chemicals and 80,000 trade name products. New and updated information will be added in quarterly updates.

"Chemicals, formulated products and their company sources" offers facilities not found in existing chemical directories. Users will be able to identify formulated products containing a specific chemical, compare chemicals using the physical data and hazard information which is provided, and find all products which have the same chemical nature or end-uses using the unique classification system.

The directory has a brief alternative name, "Chemicals and companies".

"Chemicals, formulated products and their company sources" is available on CD-ROM, incorporating specially designed software from Hampden Data Services Ltd which runs with Windows 3.1, Windows 3.11, Windows 95 or Windows NT. Subscription is on an annual basis, which includes quarterly updates.
