Better focus for Sigma Coatings in the UK

Better focus for Sigma Coatings in the UK

Sigma Coatings has concluded the sale of its Decorative Paints activities in the UK to Philip Johnstone Group Limited, its partner in the manufacturing joint venture Buckingham Coatings Limited (BCL).

The transaction covers three elements:

  1. 1.

    Sigma's Decorative Paints business in the UK;

  2. 2.

    Sigma's share in the manufacturing joint venture Buckingham Coatings Limited;

  3. 3.

    land and building of Sigma's distribution centre in Buckingham.

All staff working for the Decorative Paints Division and the BCL factory are transferred to Philip Johnstone Group Limited under the existing employment conditions.

Sigma Coatings Limited (UK) retains full ownership of its "low flash" factory in Buckingham, dedicated to marine, protective coatings and commercial transport refinishes and of its factory in Deeside for the production of coil coatings. With the resulting reduced asset base, simplified organisation, lower overheads, Sigma Coatings will now be in a position to develop its core activities in the UK more successfully.
