GretagMacbeth has launched the latest version of its powerful, Windows-based ProPalette colour formulation system which offers a new level of user input and sophisticated programming techniques to increase both productivity and profits. Designed for single hit matching at all levels of opacity it is thought to be ideal for applications in the paint and coatings and plastics industries. For existing ProPalette users, version 2.0 offers seamless transition and is Y2K compliant.

The new version was developed to streamline workflow: database improvements offer unprecedented data flexibility; user interface enhancements increase efficiency; and innovative colour utilities streamline data analysis and improve productivity.

Powered by Microsoft Access database file format, ProPalette claims to provide nearly unlimited data exchange and reporting possibilities. The innovation of a unified database format allows users to create file association or folders such as a job or customer folder for fast and easy formula storage and retrieval.

Improvements in the user interface allow ease of operation with workflow prompts to guide users through the formulation process. Automatic unit conversion enables timesaving, production-ready formulas, while "quick start" default macros help automate redundant processes and can easily be edited to suit the user's unique process.

With ProPalette 2.0 users can now conveniently access their entire database using the exclusive Colour Browser technology. Additionally, each folder contains colour-coded icons that simulate the colours of the stored samples for easy identification and recall.

Colour data can be electronically transmitted from ProPalette via Microsoft Mail. It also features a real time text editor that allows multilingual users to personalise the software's text to their native language and local dialect and can also be used to customise technical jargon to specific industry needs or corporate preferences.

ProPalette 2.0 is compatible with the GretagMacbeth range of Color-Eye spectrophotometers including the reference model 7000A with true dual-beam, pulsed Xenon technology and exceptional inter-instrument agreement.
