Printers using either solvent or water-based inks can now mix their own finished inks quickly and easily using the latest dispenser from Rexson.

The "Colorweigh 26" dispenser from Rexson Systems Ltd allows printers to take control of their finished ink production and avoid possible delays in waiting for ink to be delivered (Plate 3). The system improves batch control and prevents wastage, as only the amount of ink needed is dispensed, helping to reduce costs.

Up to 26 solvent or water-based inks can be dispensed, of which two can be bulk dispense valves for fast dispensing of larger volumes. Dispenses can be made into a standard 25kg pail, although a range of different batch sizes and dispense accuracies is available to suit a wide variety of requirements.

Rexson Ink Management software is included as part of the system, and is a flexible tool for tracking ink usage, quality control and press returns, as well as including a database to build ingredient and recipe formulation details.

The software runs on Windows 95, with full training provided as part of the installation package.
