Malvern Instruments exhibited systems from the Mastersizer and Zetasizer ranges of particle analyzers at this year's Asia Pacific Coatings Show held in Bangkok on 24-25 June.

Malvern's Mastersizer systems are laser diffraction based instruments for measurement of particle size distribution of particles dispersed in liquids or as a dry powder (Plate 6). The Mastersizer Microplus is a small footprint, low cost system that has many of the attributes of larger laboratory-based research or QC systems. However, its size and portability, combined with its straightforward operation, mean that it can be used either in the laboratory or close to the production line. It can measure particles from 0.05µm to 550µm in size in a wide range of sample types in liquid dispersions.

Plate 6 Zetasizer 3000

The Zetasizer 3000 is one of a series of systems in Malvern's Dispersion Technology range. By measuring fundamental parameters known to affect stability such as zeta potential, particle size, pH and conductivity the Zetasizer range offers a comprehensive, objective assessment of disperse systems, across a diverse range of application areas.
