GretagMacbeth's new, advanced quality control system for colour, Optiview 2.0, is a comprehensive QC solution thought to be suitable for every stage of the colour inspection process from raw materials to the finished product. It improves colour quality control in three key areas: the database, user interface and innovative colour utilities.

Optiview 2.0 is Windows based and powered by the Microsoft Access database file format, providing almost unlimited reporting capabilities. It enhances data sharing and exchange by taking data into any ODBC compliant software application. The system features a unified database allowing the user to create file associations for easy access to stored jobs. Recalling a job not only recalls the standard but all associated trials, desktop settings and tolerances, accelerating workflow and reducing error.

The user interface speeds colour data analysis and improves decision making. "Quick start" default macros automate tasks and are easily edited to suit a user's unique process. Unprecedented desktop flexibility gives multiple users more mileage from a single system. With user-customised desktops and toolbars, a single click provides everything needed to begin a job.

The innovation in the system's colour utilities combines sophisticated technology with operating ease and also allows time to be saved by sharing colour data electronically via Microsoft Mail. A real time text editor lets users personalise the software's text to native languages and local dialects for communicating colour more effectively throughout the world.

Optiview 2.0 is compatible with the full range of GretagMacbeth's high precision Color-Eye benchtop and portable spectrophotometers, including the reference model 7000A with its dual beam, pulsed Xenon light source technology.
