To help its customers reduce their VOE quota without any loss of print quality, Videojet has introduced two new inks. The new SR ink reportedly contains just 19 per cent volatile organic compounds as its predominant ingredient is acetone, which is solvent exempt.

This black acetone ink 16-50SR adds a high performance MEK-free and methanol-free ink to Videojet's growing selection of graphics fluids. It is thought to be ideal for printing on to coated and uncoated paper stocks, typically used in the graphics industry. It is also suitable for industrial applications on plastic, metal and glass.

16-50SR is formulated for high speed applications where fast drying is an important consideration. It is packaged in convenient five-litre containers which fit directly into the printer. The ink is suitable for use with Videojet's SR50 printers.

Also free from MEK and methanol is Videojet's new postal bar code ink. Faster dry time, improved print quality and higher reliability are its principal credentials. It also requires less maintenance than previous formulations. This black, water-based ink is suitable for use in a wide range of Videojet industrial and graphics printers.
