Merck's flash blue pearlescent iriodin pigment has been used in the new range of Pepsi non-returnable glass bottles to dramatic effect. Packaging specialists Decorative Sleeves printed the design using Merck's "state-of-the-art" special effect pigment for added impact.

Decorative Sleeves and Merck are well used to working together as they are both founder members of the Packaging Solutions Advice Group which aims to keep designers and marketeers up-to-date with the latest packaging developments.

The flash blue iriodin pigment is large particle sized interference pigment which catches direct light to give an electric depth to the Pepsi blue colours. It has been used on all Pepsi, Pepsi Max and Diet Pepsi glass bottles that are available at pubs and clubs throughout the UK.
