Granyte praises people power
Granyte, one of the UK's leading wood finishes manufacturer, has been awarded the prestigious Investors in People accreditation.
Granyte has always held an excellent reputation for staff development and inward investment. Comments managing director, Nick Searle: "Our record of staff retention speaks for itself, many of our employees have been with us for over 20 years, indeed for some, Granyte is the only work environment they have ever known since they joined us straight from school. Ours is a knowledge business and as such, our people are our greatest asset. The Investors in People award is testimony to this loyalty and commitment to our staff".
The accreditation comes after months of preparation by Granyte, carried out with the help and guidance of Manchester TEC. All staff have been issued with an Employee Personal Portfolio which details the company's aims and long-term business objectives in addition to providing each member of staff with documents such as their job description and the company's health & safety procedures. Added to the framework set out by Investors in People, Granyte has also reinforced its commitment to employee development by establishing an on-site learning centre which will offer both vocational training and leisure classes under the banner of "Learning for life".
