Portasilo Bulk Handling Systems has launched the innovative new VIBROFLO and VIBROCONE range of vibratory discharge devices (Plate 3). These new products claim to solve many of the problems traditionally associated with this type of device, and thus improve efficiency while reducing costs.

The VIBROFLO Vibratory Discharger uses an activated inner cone with static body, to eliminate the need for a flexible seal between the discharger and the storage vessel. The seal on traditional dischargers can be prone to catastrophic failure and its elimination removes what is a major shortcoming of these systems. The VIBROFLO Discharger is thought to be suitable for use on a wide range of silos, bins and bunkers. The VIBROFLO design ensures that all the energy is input evenly to the product. This reduces energy consumption, noise and vibration, and ensures symmetrical discharge from the vessel.

The static body design allows fitment of a level sensing device, which prevents compaction between the discharger and downstream equipment.

The design of the VIBROFLO unit allows it to be supplied in circular, square or rectangular formats (Plate 4) and manufactured from mild or stainless steel, ensuring that there is a unit available to suit every application.

The VIBROCONE Vibratory Discharger has been specifically designed for hoppers and day bins which are regularly emptied and where a guarantee of complete emptying is necessary. This is particularly important with weighed batch hoppers or where cross-contamination of materials is a problem.

In developing these new products, Portasilo has drawn on the success of the Manufacturing Industry Achievement award winning ROTOFLO Discharge Systems. These, like the VIBROFLO and VIBROCONE devices, were developed by Portasilo, to help customers to benefit from over 40 years' successful experience at the forefront of materials handling and storage technology.
