Resins and plastics manufacturer BIP Limited of Oldbury, near Birmingham (Tel: +44 (0) 121 544 2333) has formed a contract services operation, offering a contract processing facility for the resins, plastics and chemicals industries. Based at the Oldbury premises, it complements BIP Organics, an established, multi-service company which specialises in a number of application fields supporting these same industries.
Barry Chisnall, general manager resins businesses, is responsible for this new venture. He explains that BIP Contract Services was founded as a consequence of the recent portfolio exchange deal with the US chemicals giant Reichhold, a subsidiary of Dai Nippon Paints & Inks of Japan, and offers its considerable processing experience based on three-quarters of a century of leading the world in amino resins technology.
Facilities offered by the new business include resin manufacture, contract blending and contract drum filling as well as other services.
We understand that BIP's recently re-organised warehousing and logistics undetaking at Oldbury, operated by Exel Logistics Tankfreight, has been awarded the European quality accreditation ISO 9000. This is the first warehouse system within the chemical sector to gain this prestigious award.
