A new powder spray system from Nordson Corporation offers multiple modes to provide optimal coating of parts in widely varying configurations. The CE compliant system, named Sure Coat, provides a full-featured standard mode and three special modes for difficult applications. Enhanced productivity and operator comfort features are included.

The Sure Coat spray system's standard mode with automatic feedback current control provides uniform coating performance over a wide range of part profiles. For difficult applications such as deep cavity (Faraday cage), touchup and recoating, the operator can select from three additional coating modes. "Until now, powder spray systems included only one coating mode", says Ken Kreeger, Nordson director of sales. "Our new Select Charge technology is the first to add specialized coating modes to improve quality, efficiency and consistency in a full range of part finishing applications."

The newly designed spray gun includes a purge button located on the handle for easy accessibility. Purging (cleaning the gun) minimizes rejects by preventing powder build-up and surging.

A standard air-wash feature is said to keep powder from accumulating on the electrode, and a front-end powder pathway allows easy dissassembly and cleaning.

The gun is light in weight and balanced for easy control and reduced operator fatigue. It is available in two lengths. Interchangeable handle inserts allow each operator a choice for comfort.

Snap-fit construction replaces threaded parts that can cause maintenance problems if they become damaged or caked with powder. The system includes self-diagnostics to reduce downtime, minimize rejects and support troubleshooting.

The control unit includes simple, easily identifiable controls and constant-read gauges which display air-pressure settings even when the gun is not triggered on.

Nordson Corporation provides worldwide sales, parts and service through direct operations in over 30 countries, supplemented by a distributor network. Headquartered in Westlake, Ohio, USA, the company designs, manufactures and markets systems that apply adhesives, sealants and coatings during the manufacture of consumer and industrial products.
