Pearl lustre pigments enable decorative effects to be obtained, their applications being predominantly in the coatings industry, in colouring plastics and in cosmetics. The scope for novel combinations of colour and effect which the principle of building up layers of coatings, applied with this pigment group, lends to product developers is virtually infinite.

Mica-metal oxide pigments are the main subject-matter of this book, which covers in detail properties and quality-critical aspects of manufacture. The book focuses primarily on the potential of these pigments in coating, printing ink and plastics applications. It also deals with the effects of pearl lustre pigments on man and the environment.

The book is aimed principally at those working in application research in the above sectors, and those in the spheres of product development and colour design. It packs a great deal of information on pearl lustre pigments into one quick guide.
