Automatic sampling dispensing systems
Keywords Dispensing, Rexson
Manual dispensing of small quantities can be very laborious; it is difficult to achieve required accuracies, and the increasing demands on paint and ink manufacturers for shorter delivery times and higher accuracies mean that conventional sampling methods are less acceptable.
According to Rexson, their new sampling dispensing system eliminates errors which arise from conventional (manual) methods such as weighing errors, inconsistency of raw materials through settling, and evaporation. The machine takes care of the physical dispensing process and also features the complete integrated software package required for management of the sampling process. The system can be linked to existing host systems, spectrophotometers, printers and bar code readers.
The sampling dispenser from Rexson Systems is for up to 72 ingredients and accuracy of ± 10mg (Plate 8). The system includes the option of automatic agitation of ingredients, and also agitation of the dispense batch whilst dispensing (patent applied for). The dispenser can be fitted with a range of canister sizes from 1.4 litres to 25 litres, and canisters are removable for cleaning so that new materials can easily be added. Greater numbers of ingredients can be accommodated.
Plate 8 The new sampling dispensing system from Rexson allows accurate dispensing of small quantities of paint, ink or chemicals
When combined with a Rexson production system the amount of waste and mismatches will, it is said, be reduced to an absolute minimum.
