Intertech Corporation's sixth international business development conference on titanium dioxide, TiO2 99 -New Strategies in an Era of Industry Rationalization, was held 14-16 April 1999 at the Sheraton Padova Hotel, just outside Venice, Italy.
TiO2 99 brought together an international group of feedstock suppliers, pigment producers, end users and industry analysts to explore, by region and by application, the current business and technical trends taking place in this $7 billion industry. Delegates at this meeting learned about regional TiO2 consumption rates, and how industry rationalization and end user developments are affecting pigment demand in coatings, plastics, paper, and textile fibers. Trends in ilmenite, synthetic and natural rutfie, as well as alternative Ti-based feedstocks also was examined.
