Kemira Coatings continues development of its Fontetherm range of water-based polyester stoving enamels, to offer a large range of finishing opportunities to manufacturers of bicycles.
Kemira is also seeing growing interest in Fontetherm's potential for creating novel effects in motorcycle, "white" goods, sports equipment, and other style-sensitive sectors. The company is also currently implementing the first applications for its water-based finishes in the automotive components sector.
Fontetherm produces a technically superior finish, with excellent adhesion and durability, and with the flexibility to create a wide range of effects. These include iridescent, mica, metallic, pearlescent and spatter finishes.
Not content with the standard colour "swatch", Kemira has taken on board a pigments specialist who is spearheading development of innovative multi-tone finishes, and even coatings which change colour completely when viewed from different aspects.
Kemira's advanced approach to pigmentation goes hand in hand with its experience in converting plant to water-based finishes with a minimum of disruption, advantageous running costs, and simplified transition to EPA compliance.
