A new range of high performance, heavy-duty mixers can now be supplied by Refina Ltd. They are designed for mixing products in situ and also repair, refurbishment and maintenance materials as well as general industrial applications (Plate 3).

Called Megamixer, they are thought to be ideal for the on-site mixing and blending of epoxies, resins, mortars, plasters, textures, cements, paints, sealants and adhesives. In fact, any materials that require thorough mixing before use. They are fitted with powerful slow-speed motors and high torque gearboxes, and can be supplied with soft starts for the mixing or blending of low viscosity materials.

There are six electric models in the range from a robust 1,700 watt down to the handy versatile 700 watt machine. Depending on the mixing paddles utilised, mix quantities from one litre to 200 litres can be accommodated. The consistent and thorough forced-action mixing process is said to guarantee the efficient use of materials at output rates from one bag per minute to two tons per hour. Air powered machines are also produced.

Megamixers are supplied as standard with type MR3 triple bladed mixer paddles. These provide an easy and effective top-to-bottom mix action ideal for pre-bagged powders, liquids, two packs, paints and general refurbishment products.

Alternative paddles include the MR4 which is designed for stiff mortars and epoxy mixes. The paddle turns and lifts the material with a bottom to top action to minimise air entrainment. The four bladed MR7 cuts and turns the mix, ideal for putties and pasty materials.

Also new is a range of barrel mixer paddles which are designed to mix in drums with a 2 inch bung hole.

Megamixers and paddles come with a full one year guarantee, with a nationwide spares and service back-up. A technical support line is also available for advice on specialist applications. This free service is available to industrial users, paint and resin producers, maintenance contractors and equipment dealers.
