Computer-based training programme
Keywords Jotun Paints, Training, Software, Paints
Based on its experience in the marketplace, Jotun Paints has become very aware of the lack of facilities for paint and coating users to acquire background knowledge to aid them in their decision making and specification writing.
In an effort to assist users, therefore, Jotun has utilised its long experience in the provision of training in "Paint schools", to produce interactive Windows-based software to facilitate the self-study of the basics of paint technology. The new computer-based training (CBT) program covers corrosion protection, pre-treatment, paint application, and health and safety, and remains extremely user-friendly while maximising interest by prompting response to a series of questions and exercises.
Although the new Jotun software deals with the fundamentals of its subject-matter, it makes use of advanced interactive features, such as video-sequence start/stop, and drag-and-drop for user response. In this way, maximum interest is maintained during self-instruction.
