Alain Perroy, vice president for health, safety and environment for the Rhône-Poulenc Group, was recently appointed to succeed Hugo Lever as Director-General of the European Chemical Industry Council.
Alain Perroy, 53, is a French national and graduated as an engineer from the Ecole Polytechnique and the Ecole des Mines de Paris.
Since 1997 he has been chairman of the Management Committee Board of CEN, the European committee for standardisation.
He currently holds senior positions in various CEFIC groups and other European and international chemical industry-related associations.
