Development and marketing collaboration

Keywords: LabSystems, Galactic, Information management

LabSystems and Galactic have announced that they are working with customers and other suppliers in a joint application development program to develop solutions for integrating spectral data and chemical structures to laboratory information management systems (LIMS).

The first results of this collaboration were launched with LabSystems Nautilus 2000 LIMS at Pittcon in March. Nautilus 2000 incorporates technology from Galactic allowing the user to display spectra from directly within the LIMS.

Data such as chemical structures and analytical spectra require additional facilities for storage, searching, processing and displaying which are outside the scope of a typical LIMS. Currently, chemists must use separate products from AIMS Analytical Information Management Systems) vendors to accomplish these tasks. LabSystems and Galactic are working together with end-users to produce a completely integrated solution that promises productivity improvements, better integration of results and more effective R&D.

In addition to jointly developing solutions, LabSystems Pathfinder professional services group will become Galactic's primary implementation partner for its Spectral Server solution.
