It is reported that Dave Deters, at DuPont Performance Coatings (DPC), has been named regional director technology Europe and Asia. In this region he is responsible for the co-ordination, integration and development of new technology. Dr Dietrich Saatweber, previous head of research and development, left active service on 31 December, 1999.
Dave is a member of the global technology management team, headed by Dr Dieter Engel, the DPC global director technology. Technology counts globally about 2,700 people and is the function at DPC in charge of all aspects of material and process development for coating systems up to application and respective technical service. Dave Deters graduated from Michigan state University in 1981 and has over 18 years' experience in automotive finishes. He joined DuPont in 1986 and has held a number of positions in product development, customer support, technical marketing, supervision and management. He transferred to Europe in 1995 as technical director of DuPont Automotive Coatings Europe. For the past nine months he has headed the technology integration of Herberts and DuPont in Europe and Asia, with great commitment and success.
