Several new management assignments at PPG Industries were recently announced by Raymond W. LeBoeuf, board chairman and chief executive officer:

Dick Beuke, general manager, silicas, was elected vice-president, architectural coatings.

Kathleen McGuire, general manager, fine chemicals, was elected vice-president, silicas.
- •
Michael McGarry, product manager, caustic soda and PELS, was named general manager, fine chemicals.
- •
Rick Elias, general manager, optical products, was elected vice-president, optical products.
- •
Bud Wise, director, organisation development and compensation, was elected vice-president, human resources.
- •
Jeff Gilbert, director, acquisitions and international human resources, was elected vice-president, government affairs.
In addition, two members of PPG's finance team were elected officers.

David Navikas, controller, was elected vice-president and controller.
- •
Donna Walker, previously director, tax administration, was elected vice-president, tax administration.
PPG also reports the retirement of executive vice-president E. Kears Pollock, concluding a 34-year career with the company. Charles E. (Chuck) Bunch, senior vice-president, strategic planning and corporate services, has been elected executive vice-president, assuming responsibility for all of PPG's coatings strategic business units.
It is also reported that Michael Sack has been named manager of marketing services, a new post in the automotive coatings business of PPG Industries. He remains based at PPG's offices in Strongsville, Ohio.
Michael is responsible for enhancing product line image and brand recognition for PPG's original equipment automotive coatings.
