Celebrating 50 years of thermoplastic coating success

Celebrating 50 years of thermoplastic coating successKeywords: Plascoat, Thermoplastics

Fifty years in thermoplastic coatings is being marked by Plascoat with the production of new glossy colour brochure and a programme of new product announcements.

The brochure features Plascoat's success across the world and in a range of business sectors.

Plascoat has emerged from its 1950s beginnings as a specialist coater to become one of Europe's leading companies in the manufacture of thermoplastic coatings – establishing a series of industry standards and market firsts.

In the mid-1980s Plascoat introduced adhesive systems into the coating material itself, when the PPA (Performance Polymer Alloy) series was launched.

The first version, PPA665, has progressed to become a popular internal corrosion protection system for fire extinguisher cylinders.

In 1989 the versatile PPA571 was introduced and has since chalked up construction application performance successes in some of the world's harshest environments – with a recognized environmental friendliness. Its versatility extends to its dip, spray and extrusion application options and a series of grades that dispel the perception that a coating has to be hard to be tough and durable.

As part of a year of events to mark its golden anniversary, Plascoat informs us that it is planning a series of new product introductions, including PPA and Talisman polyolefin range developments.
