On revisiting the Web site of the UK Industrial Vision Association (www.ukiva.org) we discovered that it had been upgraded to offer improved facilities for visitors wishing to find out more about products, applications and services related to industrial vision. In addition, a full set of notes from the seminar "Profiting from Machine Vision" is also freely available.
The search facility for the database of over 60 UK Industrial Vision Association (UKIVA) members has undergone a major overhaul. The new search engine allows visitors to search using multiple criteria, linked by " and" or "or", to give greater flexibility in order to rapidly identify the members supplying the required products and services. Search criteria include particular camera types, image processing boards, image processing components, vision software, vision consultancy, supplier services and coding systems.
The "Profiting from Machine Vision" seminars were held at the Machine Vision exhibition, 14-15 February 2001. Lectures were given by UKIVA members and included: "machine vision basics", "getting a good image", "analysing the image", "financial justifications" and "making use of the information". Full details of the lectures are available on the Web site.
Access to the UKIVA site for US visitors has also been speeded up since the site is now being mirrored on a US-based server.
