The third site visited (www.basf.de/pigments) was provided by BASF and offers a wide range of information about the company's colorants and pigment preparations. This Web site gives customers more rapid access to product information, as well as to contacts for assistance with problems, technical support and service. The colourful presentation of the Web pages is certainly appropriate to the product range. Besides giving text descriptions, each pigment is illustrated. The site contains both an English and a German version.
The Web pages are divided by application industry into coatings, colorants for plastics, ceramic colours, printing inks and special industries. Links provide access to: technical information bulletins on the product ranges; product data sheets with light and weather fastness ratings, suitable fields of application, shade illustrations for various mixtures, etc.; product specifications with delivery standards and shade tolerances; EU safety date sheets; product safety data such as conformity with food and drugs law, registration status in chemical inventories, heavy-metal content, etc.
