Thermo LabSystems announces that the latest version of its Laboratory Information Management System Nautilus 2001 has been released and delivers a complete suite of tools to enable customers to address 21 CFR Part 11 compliance, in accordance with their specific laboratory working practices.
It is reported that the focus of the latest development has been to enable full electronic signature compliance, and improve ease of use, configuration and administration of access and functional security. These include: direct support for electronic signature compliance by configurable features for electronically signing both static and dynamic data entities within Nautilus. Enhanced password and login security mechanisms enable efficient and compliant reporting, and the administration of compliance-related information
This new functionality supplements features for 21 CFR Part 11 compliance that have been available in previous Nautilus versions, such as audit trailing and workstation security.
Thermo LabSystems believes that Nautilus is the first LIMS application, with instrument integration as part of its core functionality, to address fully 21 CFR Part 11 compliance issues
Among other new functionality delivered, Nautilus 2001 includes advanced XML capabilities, which focus on the manipulation of dynamic laboratory data either from the Internet or third-party applications.
Nautilus 2001 is being released to supported customers worldwide and is being shipped with Oracle 8i, allowing customers to take advantage of the latest Oracle features.
