Ciba Specialty Chemicals have recently launched the following two products, CIBACRON Yellow C-RG, described as a bireactive golden yellow dye available in powder and liquid form, combining high cost effectiveness with outstanding properties: among numerous benefits claimed are exceptionally high light and wet fastness, high fixation, and excellent build up and washing-off behavior.

It is said to be designed for dyeing cellulose fibers by all continuous dyeing processes and for dyeing polyester/cellulose blends by pad-thermosol-pad-steam and pad-thermosol-pad-batch methods. It is recommended for standard shades in combination with CIBACRON Red C-2G, Blue C-R and/or Navy C-B and as a trichromatic component in combination with CIBACRON Red C2BL and Blue C-R-for pale shades requiring high light fastness. CIBACRON Yellow C-RG can be used for dyeing emerized fabrics.

Said to be distinguished by exceptionally high hot light fastness, Ciba TERATOP Orange HL is believed to be ideal for automotive applications. According to Ciba this non-dusting, free-flowing dye, which fulfills KO-TEX Standard requirements, is produced to the highest quality standards, ensuring excellent shade reproducibility. The dye is said to be suitable for exhaust and continuous application on polyester fibers. It is recommended by the company for exhaust dyeing of staple fibers, yarn and piecegoods and for pad-thermosol dyeing of car seatbelts. It is also reported to be highly suitable for alkaline exhaust dyeing in conjunction with CIBATEX ALK alkaline buffer. TERATOP Orange HL can be used on its own or as a component of the TERATOP trichromatic system. It is also believed to be a useful element for controlling flare and fade.

In addition to light fastness, benefits claimed include excellent build up and thus high suitability for dark shades, low sensitivity to temperature and liquor ratio, good dispersion stability and leveling properties, and good contact, wash and dry heat fastness.

TERATOP ORANGE HL is recommended by Ciba for all applications requiring high light fastness: in addition to automotive interior trim, it is thus thought to be highly suitable for outdoor items and home furnishings, including microfibers.
