Coating award

The 16th Annual Hanna Award in Coatings for the Best Project in the Science and Technology of Chemical Coatings was presented recently at Ohio Science Day, a gathering of the State’s outstanding middle and high school science projects, which was held at Ohio State University on Saturday. The winner was Jeff Warnke, a 7th grade student at Regina Coeli Middle School in Toledo, Ohio, for his project entitled “What Type Of Paint Prevents Rust Most Efficiently.” The judges found Jeff ’s work, which compared the performance of a broad selection of readily available consumer paint products, to be comprehensive and well thought-out, with a balanced regard for both scientific content and practical application.
