New gauges from Dakota Ultrasonics, part of the Sonatest Group plc., have been designed to measure through painted or coated materials and eliminate the thickness of the paint or coating. There is no longer the need to remove or allow for errors due to the presence of paint or coated surfaces.

These versatile instruments are packed with operator friendly features such as fast scan, audible and visual alarms, data logging system (capable of storing up to 1,000 readings) together with the multi-mode function – all operational at the touch of a button. These gauges use a highly damped dual element style transducer for both modes – eliminating the need to switch between transducer types.

Packed in an aluminium sealed case these instruments are rugged and resistant to the working environment, backed by a 5 years warranty. The MMX is so versatile that it has a wide spectrum of applications including corrosion and pitting, measurement on plate, tube and pipes, tanks, boilers and glass.
