BYK-Chemie participation in Radtech and ChinaCoat

Keywords: BYK-Chemie, Conferences, Additives, Paints

During Radtech at the Estrel Convention Center in Berlin from 3 to 5 November, 2003, BYK-Chemie presented its complete product line of surface additives, defoamers, wax additives, wetting and dispersing additives and rheological additives.

The additives to be presented are suitable for 100 per cent solids, as well as solvent-based and aqueous UV-systems. The brochure titled “additive finder for radiation curing systems” makes the selection of additives for each application easier.

BYK-Chemie at ChinaCoat, Shanghai

At this year's ChinaCoat from 5 to 7 November, BYK-Chemie presented its new defoamers BYK®-012 and BYK®-017. During the ChinaCoat congress, Janos Hajas presented a lecture on the improvement of colorant acceptance in architectural paints.

BYK®-012 is a highly effective 100 per cent solid, new polymeric defoamer for aqueous systems. Unlike classical defoamers, it is also suitable for systems with extreme pH values between pH 3 and 12.

BYK®-017 is a very powerful new silicone defoamer for aqueous printing inks and universal pigment concentrates.

“How to improve colorant acceptance in architectural paints” was the topic of a lecture, authored and presented by Janos Hajas, Technical Product Support Manager for BYK-Chemie, at the ChinaCoat Congress on 4 November 2003 at 11:30 h. This paper highlighted a theoretical approach to the topic and gave practical suggestions for improving colorant acceptance of solventborne alkyd, TPA and aqueous architectural paints.
