The regulations covering the carriage of dangerous goods will be changing significantly over the next year, having a fundamental impact on both domestic and international transport operations. To help guide industry through the changes the Freight Transport Association has devised a series of 1 day seminars, to be held throughout the UK to help the delegates assess the effect that new rules will have on individual businesses.
Dangerous goods will brief delegates on how domestic operations, previously outside the scope of the European requirements will be affected by the new regulations. Sectors specifically affected will include public utilities, parcel carriers, the retail sector and highway and railway infrastructure maintenance companies due to changes in the regulation of the carriage of diesel fuel and the limited quantity/limited load thresholds.
FTA experts will present sessions on both domestic and international operations including paperwork requirements, training, reporting procedures, multi-model transportation and enforcement.
The 1 day seminar has been designed for managers, supervisory staff and health and safety officers involved in the movement of dangerous goods, including diesel fuel.
The dates and locations for the seminars are as follows
- •
February 2004, Gatwick.
- •
25 February 2004, Birmingham.
- •
3 March 2004, Heathrow.
- •
