MIS announces the introduction of Paxcam2, the next generation of the Paxcam digital microscope camera that, it says, has been widely popular since 2002.

The Paxcam2 camera is the first of a new family of cameras from MIS offering microscope users different resolution options and application modules for years to come.

All are available as fully integrated packages with the Pax-it image database and analysis software. Paxcam is available bundled with full-featured software for measuring, image analysis, report generation, 21 CFR Part 11, welding, pathology and more – or available separately as a camera-only solution.

The new Paxcam employs a USB 2.0 interface which produces faster transfer rates than IEEE1394 Firewire or SCSI cameras. The result is that Paxcam provides a real time, smooth display that makes image previewing easy, on both desktop computers and laptops. The snapshots produced are of excellent quality and high-resolution images.

MIS created Paxcam specifically for use with microscope or macro lens applications. It allows the user to easily capture the image seen through the eyepieces of almost any microscope. Whether your microscope is an Olympus, Leica, Zeiss, Nikon or other brand, Paxcam's standard C-mount connection makes for a quick, easy and inexpensive installation.

MIS says that the easy-to-use interface, superb colour rendition, and unique one-of-a-kind features make Paxcam unlike any other camera used in microscopy.

User controls include a focus meter, auto white balance, auto exposure mode, and easy manual adjustments of contrast, saturation, exposure and more, and all are available at the user's fingertips. Settings can be saved and restored so that sample types or lighting conditions can easily be switched and workflow enhancements realised.
