Johnson Matthey Catalysts is launching a campaign to break into the growing paints and coatings market in Asia. The company, which has two sites in the North of England, is the world's leading manufacturer of organic titanates. Its VERTECe brand has achieved worldwide success through its core values of innovation, customer service and quality.

Experts from the company will make their first appearance at the Chinacoat 2004 exhibition next month – one of the largest paints and coatings events in the Far East.

Johnson Matthey Catalysts prides itself on creating innovative products that enhance the performance of paints and coatings. The area is a rapidly growing market worldwide and technologies are constantly evolving to increase the durability of paints and coatings products, make application easier and drive down production costs.

China is one of the fastest growing markets – evolving at a yearly rate of 25 percent. Last year the country produced around 2.3 million tons of paint. Coatings manager at Johnson Matthey Catalysts, Mark Thompson, said: “China is an important market for us to break into as it offers fantastic opportunities for growth”. “Our appearance at the Chinacoat 2004 exhibition next month is essential for breaking into this market, it will allow us to forge important relationships and build the profile of Johnson Matthey and the VERTEC brand. “Equally, the visit will be invaluable in establishing a good understanding of the social, cultural and demographic issues in this part of the world”.
