Johnson Polymer announces a new, low-odour polymer emulsion with high resistance for water based tissue inks

Keywords: Polymers, Paints, Inks

The European headquarters of Johnson Polymer has introduced a new product to be used in water based tissue inks: JONCRYL® 539.

JONCRYL 539 is an emulsion especially designed for application in tissue inks. In tests performed according to EN646, JONCRYL 539 shows good bleeding resistance. Additionally it also shows good bleeding resistance against cleaning detergents like Mr Muscle and Glassex. This feature makes it a multi- purpose letdown vehicle suitable for tissue applications from toilet paper to table tops.

An additional benefit is the fact that JONCRYL 539 is amine and ammonia free and therefore has no obnoxious smell. It is therefore highly recommended for application in napkins and table tops.

The combination of bleeding resistance and low-odour makes JONCRYL 539 a very suitable vehicle for water based tissue inks. Tissue like toilet paper, kitchen towel, napkins and tablecloths all need high bleeding resistance. An odour is not accepted by the consumer during usage and also in the converting process a low-odour product will be a big advantage.

Additional documentation and a product sample can be obtained from Johnson Polymer in Heerenvee.
