Off-line coating with lambda coater

Edale has recently launched a dedicated, narrow web off-line coating machine for a wide range of coating applications. The increase in short to medium production runs of intelligent label solutions using high technology materials has led to the need for in- house coating. Speciality self adhesive materials, which are mainly film based, are expensive to buy-in due to the relative low volume. Establishing in- house coating requires knowledge in materials, adhesives and its curing and converting. These are all key elements to gain an advantage in a highly competitive market. Depending on the application, gravure, screen, flexo, hot melt or any combination coating process is available with the Lambda. Sophisticated, extended drying and curing solutions for any type of adhesives are available. In this situation airflow and temperature control play a major part for a consistent coating quality. The totally servo driven Lambda Coater incorporates a high-tech web tension and handling system to enable coating of a wide range of delicate substrates including metallic foil, holograms, tapes and films. Owing to the Lambda platform concept the machines offers total re-configurability. This means the ability to change, modify, re-position and extend the concept to additional off-line converting functions.
