Superior Printing Ink launches new curable sheetfed inks

Article Type: Industry news From: Pigment

Superior Printing Ink Co., Inc. has launched a revamped portfolio of UV sheetfed inks for the packaging and commercial markets. The comprehensive product portfolio includes Super-Cure (a traditional 100 percent UV system), Inter-Cure (a hybrid system suitable for use on conventional press trains), and Plastik-Cure (for printing on nonporous and plastic substrates).

“The positive results we have seen in the market with our completely updated product lines have exceeded our greatest expectations,” said Steve Simpson, Senior Vice President and Chief Technical Officer. “Our customers have been particularly excited by our new ultra-high opacity white, which in many cases has enabled the printer to achieve the required opacity in one hit instead of two. We are also setting new industry standards for color intensity with our high strength, jet black UV inks. These new formulations can simultaneously print high density solids and type without tailing, or, in the case of reverses, without filling in.”

Superior's UV product line is supported by a team of product development, technical service, and sales professionals with extensive experience in UV formulation and printing technology. “Customers really value our ability to bring industry experts into their shops to explain the technology, optimize press conditions, diagnose any problems, and make the printer more successful with UV printing,” said Dan Maffeo, Vice President, Sales.
