The agreement, which was finalised in July 2008, sees the company take sole ownership of both the HallsBeeline and Stanley decorating products divisions, including offices, warehouse and manufacturing facilities in both Leeds and Morecambe.
Color Expert is a family owned business with over 110 years experience in the manufacture and supply of painting and decorating tools, and is the second largest decorating tool manufacturer in Europe. Color Expert is part of Storch Holding GmbH who own production and distribution companies in Germany, seven other countries in Europe and China.
The immediate benefit to Robert J. Hall Ltd will be via an injection of working capital, which will enable the company to increase stock levels on all products including HallsBeeline’s paintbrush and AFS ranges and Stanley’s MaxFinish and Dynagrip ranges.
Marketing Director for Robert J. Hall Ltd, Philippa Pawson said: “Becoming part of Color Expert is an exciting move for us and we are looking forward to working with our new colleagues to ensure that the company goes from strength to strength. Our first priority now is to focus on continuing to work with our customers to improve service levels and help increase their profit margins further”.
Horst Rogusch, President of Color Expert added: “We recognise that the UK market is different to our existing markets and we will draw on Robert J. Hall Ltd’s vast experience and knowledge to launch into what is a new market for us. It will be business as usual for the company, and we look forward to working with the team to introduce the right products and brands to the UK market and grow the business further”.
“In the longer term, however, customers may benefit from our extremely successful POS system for selling painting tools and new products – something we know will be very useful for the DIY market and not yet introduced to the UK”.
