CPS color opens new US facility

CPS color equipment has opened a new center in Concord, NC. Called America’s Center, the 36,000 sq. ft. facility has the capacity to produce more than 4,000 dispensers and shakers per year. The center includes 42 permanent staff members and 22 contractors working in sales, marketing, administration, service and production. It has been designed to allow for future expansion as the business develops. CPS color manufactures automatic tinting dispensers, related software, along with mixing equipment and color merchandising collateral.

Pricing changes

  • Cook composites and polymers: July 1 – 5-12 percent increase for all coatings resins products.

  • Ciba: effective immediately – up to 20 percent increase for all product ranges.

  • Cray Valley: June 1 – $0.07/lb increase for all grades of Norsolene resins and $0.08/lb increase for all grades of Wingtack resins sold in the Americas.

  • Cytec: June 23 – 10-20 percent increase for monomers, 4-20 percent for oligomers and 6-10 percent increase for Vancryl acrylic resin in the Americas.

  • Dow Chemical: June 1 – up to 20 percent increase on all of its products.

  • Dow Epoxy: June 16 – 4-15 percent increase for metal organic products.

  • Du Pont Titanium Technologies: June 15 – $0.05/lb for all titanium dioxide grades in North America.

  • Dura Chemicals: June 16 – 4-15 percent increase for metal organic products.

  • Eastman: June 1 – $0.04/lb increase for Eastman EEP, Eastman N-butyl propionate and Eastman N-propyl propionate.

  • Evonik: July 1 – 8 percent increase for Vestagon PUR powder coatings crosslinkers and Vestagon EP-R 4030 in NAFTA.

  • International Specialty Products: June 15 – 5-10 percent increase for polymers, vinyl monomers, biocides, emoillents, emulsifiers, preservatives, encapsulates and actives in Latin America.

  • Reichhold: July 1 – at least $0.06/lb increase on all solvent-based, water-based and water reducible products.

  • Sartomer: July 1 – 6-12 percent increase for acrylate and methacrylate monomers and oligomers in the Americas.

  • Tronox: July 1 – up to 8 percent increase for all Tronox titanium dioxide grades.

  • Wacker Polymers: June 15 – $0.05/wet lb increase for vinyl acetate ethylene copolymer and vinyl acetate vinyl chloride copolymer dispersions sold in the Americas.
