Keynote speaker Dr Robert Ballard to focus on success at APEX 2001

IPC has announced that the noted author, explorer and scientist Dr Robert Ballard will deliver the keynote presentation at (APEXSM).

The APEX keynote session will begin at 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday, 16 January, 2001. His multi-media presentation draws parallels between his journeys of exploration and discovery to everyday life. He also talks about taking risks and converting failures into successes.

Dr Ballard has made several world-famous discoveries during the last 30 years, including locating the sunken R.M.S. Titanic and the remains of the German Battleship Bismarck. Ballard used advanced technology to not only find these and other wrecks, but also enter and photograph the interiors with his remotely controlled robot.

With more than 100 deep-sea expeditions under his belt, Ballard has spent more time underwater than any other scientist in the world. Ballard also contributes to National Geographic magazine, where he publishes up to ten articles a year, produced six television specials, and for two years, hosted their weekly television series "Explorer."
