Leading production automation specialist, Contax Ltd, is announcing the availability of the Omron VT-RNS-pt, an ultra simple, highly precise, benchtop AOI inspection system (Plate 4).

Offering high image resolution to 10mm, the VT-RNS-pt can inspect extremely small components, yet the system is small enough to fit any where in the production process. It uses a patented 3-colour highlight illumination system with coloured light rings, colour camera and real colour image processing to accurately and consistently analyse the solder joint.

This imaging system with the 3-colour light LED can produce 3D information from a 2D picture, ensure that operator can understand how the inspection system is makings its judgement, so ensuring a superior result.
