Removing the shock factor

Article Type: New products From: Soldering & Surface Mount Technology, Volume 22, Issue 3

Electro-static discharge (ESD) is a problem which is not only physically unpleasant but can affect or damage sensitive electrical components and/or equipment. Vynastat is international matting manufacturer Plastex UK and USA’s solution to the problem and is increasingly being used to protect from the effects of static discharge.

Fully tested and certified, Vynastat is believed to be the only ESD open grid roll matting on the market. It offers the benefits of drainage slip resistance and comfort underfoot while providing permanent protection for the safe operation of machinery and the production and testing of sensitive equipment.

The flexible PVC matting provides continuous protection because of its 100 percent semi-conductive construction and Vynastat can be connected to special earthing leads when used in short lengths or if the floor below is well insulated. It is manufactured in an open grid format which helps dissipate debris through its surface and offers other important benefits, such as being highly resistant to liquids, oils and chemicals.

Vynastat is one of the comprehensive ranges of safety, anti-fatigue and high-performance mattings manufactured by Plastic Extruders Ltd Samples and details are available from Plastic Extruders Ltd (Tel.: 01268 571116) or visit: www.plastexmatting.com
