Advances in Applied Business Strategy: Series Editor Vacancy

A position has become available for the Series Editorship of Advances in Applied Business Strategy. This position can be held by one person, or a small group of people acting as a team.

About the Series

The series Advances in Applied Business Strategy (AABS) is a forum for research that addresses the challenging 'middle ground' in the strategic management process – the ways in which strategy theory, concepts, and frameworks can be usefully and effectively applied in practice. AABS is focused on the key issues of articulating the implications of new theory for strategic management, of defining useful applications of new strategy theory in practice, and of designing approaches to implementing new practices in the process of strategic management. Emerald has been the Publisher of the series since 2008, which was owned by Elsevier prior to this date. There is considerable scope to develop the series’ aims and coverage, and to improve the regularity of the series.

The Role of a Series Editor

The main requirement is a proactive approach to editorial responsibilities. Requirements can be split into two main areas:

A Series Editor is the figurehead of a book series. They decide on the coverage and scope of the series, and will often be preparing two to three years ahead regarding topicality.. Volumes within the book series can be themed individually, and can be a monograph piece by one or two authors, or an edited collection of chapters by various authors. Every volume will have one or more volume editors, who are appointed by the Series Editor, and are often responsible for one volume only. See more on the role of a Series Editor.

A shortlist of the qualities we are looking for in a new Editor for the series follows:
