Abstract

An evaluation of the role of food and nutrition in the school curriculum, following the recent review of the national curriculum. Opportunities in science, design and technology, home economics, citizenship, and personal, social and health education are highlighted. It is concluded that food and nutrition have a valuable contribution to make in a curriculum which is relevant to the twenty‐first century, encourages creativity and innovation, develops informed consumers and promotes good health.
